SKILLS I APPLIED IN THIS PROJECT
Description
PRACTICUM WEB PROJECT
This practicum involved working as part of a four-member team tasked with creating a website for Cross Culture Ministries, a non-profit organization. As a team member, my primary responsibilities were centered around website design, creating a seamless user experience (UX), and ensuring an appealing user interface (UI). Additionally, I took on the role of meeting facilitator and served as the main point of contact for client relations, ensuring effective communication and understanding between our team and the client.
Design
USER EXPERIENCE & USER INTERFACE
My core focus during this practicum was to design a visually appealing and user-friendly website for Cross Culture Ministries. I utilized my skills in graphic design, web development, and UX principles to create an interface that was both aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate. I conducted thorough research to understand the organization's goals, target audience, and desired functionalities to tailor the website design accordingly.
To enhance the user experience, I implemented intuitive navigation menus, clear call-to-action buttons, and a consistent visual language throughout the website. I also optimized the website's responsiveness to ensure compatibility across different devices, such as desktops, tablets, and mobile phones. By prioritizing user needs and preferences, I aimed to create an engaging online platform that effectively conveyed the organization's mission and values.
In order to visually communicate the essence of Cross Culture Ministries, I crafted an appealing user interface that aligned with the organization's branding and style guidelines. Utilizing my knowledge of design principles, color theory, and typography, I carefully selected appropriate color schemes, fonts, and imagery to create a cohesive and impactful visual representation of the organization.
To maintain consistency and coherence, I ensured that the UI elements, such as buttons, icons, and images, were visually aligned with the website's overall design. Additionally, I paid attention to accessibility standards, making sure that the website was accessible to individuals with disabilities and adhered to relevant web accessibility guidelines.
Client Relations
COORDINATING BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
As the meeting facilitator and client liaison, I played a crucial role in establishing effective communication channels between our team and Cross Culture Ministries. I scheduled and coordinated regular meetings to discuss project progress, gather feedback, and address any concerns or questions from the client.
During these meetings, I actively listened to the client's needs and requirements, translating them into actionable tasks for the team. I facilitated productive discussions, ensuring that all perspectives were heard and incorporated into the design process. By maintaining open lines of communication, I ensured that the client's vision was accurately represented in the final website design.
